You only see a benefit of posh oils in higher spec forks. Silkolene do a cost effective 5wt oil. Racediscs make the best cost effective brake discs. Solid rear. Page 18: Setting The Clock. Posted May 4, 2003. The amount of oil depends on how high you want the oil level. You won't need any more than two litres (it's handy to have a spare bottle if you only use a litre).
